This is the second half of my tribute video I made for Michael Jackson included in the video called “This Is It – Gone Too Soon. Heal The World: The Ultimate Michael Jackson Tribute 1958-2009″. I have broken that video down into two parts to make it shorter for the people that don’t like to watch longer videos to encourage people to watch this one moreso. The original video tells the overall story of Michael Jackson’s passing away on June 25th, 2009 but this second half was also made intentionally to stand on its own as a tribute as well but to moreso focus on showing some of his last days events. This video uses part of the Jermaine Jackson press conference where he announces Michael Jackson as being dead, plus pictures of Michael Jackson throughout the years, an animation of him doing the moonwalk and dancing, fans mourning around the world of the news that The King Of Pop had died, scenes around his home in Los Angeles, pictures of his body being taken into the ambulance and his last death photo. On the eve of Michael Jackson’s memorial at The Staples Center in Los Angeles one has to wonder if all this could have been prevented with all the investigations going on. Way too many drugs are being found in his home in Los Angeles and under different people’s names and wrote out by 5 different doctors and some of these drugs should have never been in a home environment or been subscribed to be taken together. This has long been one of Jim’s favorite Waller piano solos.It is a descriptive solo from the era of “Reefer Madness”. Jim has been playing this Waller classic since he was 18 years old and took it off of an early recording. The bluesy, seductive, slow section is marked in contrast by the fast fingerbreaking tempo that follows. It is always a challenge to play and a treat to hear. In 1969 Jim played this solo for Eubie Blake and Shelton Brooks at a piano players party at the Los Angeles home of Milt Larsen (owner of the Magic Castle). At the bridge of the third chorus Eubie yelled out “Talk”, and “Rock,Church Rock!” and Shelton shouted, “This boy’s poison!”. At the end of the party Eubie’s partner, Carl Seltzer, signed Jim as the first new artist on the Eubie Blake Music record label. This was in August of 1969.

Another classic from Kerplunk. This was their 7th song of the evening for the November New Year’s show. It gets a little shaky in places, sorry. But, for the most part, it is steady enough. I hope you enjoy.
